Our Church

Willowdale Chapel is a nondenominational church founded in 1956. From our humble roots, we've grown to be a thriving body of 1,500 people. Today we are one church in two locations, with campuses in Kennett Square and Jennersville. We're passionate about Jesus and his Gospel, which offers the grace we all need every day. Whether they're longtime followers of Christ or just trying to figure it out for the first time, we love meeting people where they are and helping them grow in their faith.

We have all the core ministries that most churches have — children, youth and adult small groups — along with some "specialty" ministries that meet particular needs we sometimes face. Three of those — Celebrate Recovery, Re|engage (marriage) and Special Needs — offer distinctive help for some during the biggest challenges of their lives.

God intends to make all things new. That's why he sends us into the world with a gospel that touches—and begins to transform—all of life. Thus our Outreach Ministries are built on three pillars: Gospel Proclamation, Serving our Neighbors and Advocating for the Vulnerable. We organize around these key priorities to give full expression to God's love for the world.

Are you weary and worn out, in need of rest and a bit of good fun? Are you ready to take a break from your busy routine and experience more of Christ as you deepen relationships with other women at our church? Join Willowdale Women for a life-giving weekend away at Sandy Cove, MD from April 24–26, 2026.

This year’s retreat theme is Delight, rooted in Psalm 27, where we are invited to dwell in the presence of the Lord and find our joy, beauty, and confidence in Him. Together, we’ll slow down, rest, worship, laugh, and rediscover the delight of being with God and one another.

What’s included?

  • 5 meals—2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch
  • 2 nights in a nice, updated hotel-like room (linens provided, bring your own hairdryers!)
  • Live worship and inspirational teaching from our Willowdale team
  • Fun indoor and outdoor activities, including hikes and strolls along the waterfront or reading a good book while gazing at the Chesapeake Bay

Cost: 

  • 1 guest/room: $535/person
  • 2 guests/room: $350/person
  • 3 guests/room: $300/person
  • 4 guests/room: $249/person
  • Pay in one payment or 3 equal payments.  First payment is due at registration. Second and third payments are due on February 15 and March 15.
Note:  Sandy Cove is set up so that most women will NOT have to share a bed, even in rooms with 4 women.  

Spaces are limited.  Registration will remain open until all spots are filled.

Our desire is to make the retreat affordable for any woman who wishes to come. If you are interested in a payment plan or financial help, please contact Carole Hoy for a separate registration form.

Scholarship Fund

We are hoping to create a scholarship fund for the retreat, recognizing that the cost can be a real barrier—especially for younger women and those with families. This fund would help offset expenses and make the retreat accessible to anyone who desires to attend. Would you consider donating to help make this opportunity possible for others?

Refunds

We understand that plans can change, and we truly want to care well for each woman who hopes to attend. Because we make firm commitments to the retreat center based on registrations, we’re unfortunately unable to offer refunds for cancellations. If a conflict comes up, we will gladly help you transfer your spot to another woman if possible. Thank you for your understanding.
