Night to Shine Volunteer Roles

Volunteers must be 12 years old and above for Set up and Decorating.

• Set Up –Tuesday evening – includes moving setting up the furniture and activities for the event.  Please plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m. 
• Decorating – Wednesday and Thursday evening – includes inside and outdoor decorating.  Please plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m.

Volunteers can be 14 years and older for the following roles – Photography support, Karaoke support, Parent room support, Food, Paparazzi.

• Food Service Team – Friday – is setting up, serving food during the prom, and food cleanup. Please plan to arrive Friday by 5:00 p.m.
• Paparazzi – Friday –  includes cheering for our guests on the red carpet throughout the night. Please plan to arrive Friday by 5:00pm.
• Photography support – Friday – includes helping with framing portraits. May include help with editing and printing photos. Please plan to arrive by 5:00 p.m.
• Karaoke support – Friday – includes helping guests choose songs and get on the waitlist. Please plan to arrive by 5:00 p.m.
• Tear down – Friday – involves helping to take down decorations and re-set the church for Sunday.  Plan to help from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Volunteers must be 16 years old and above for the following roles – Buddy and Parent Support Room. Background checks are only needed for Buddies.

• Special Needs Buddy – Friday – includes being a one-on-one buddy to a person with special needs attending the prom.  We will give you training and assistance as needed. You must be a minimum age of 16 for this role. This is the most needed volunteer role and must fun way to experience Night to Shine! Please plan to arrive by 4:45 p.m.
• Parent Room Support – Friday – includes helping in the parent event room during the prom. Please plan to arrive by 5:00 p.m.
