Our Church

Willowdale Chapel is a nondenominational church founded in 1956. From our humble roots, we've grown to be a thriving body of 1,500 people. Today we are one church in two locations, with campuses in Kennett Square and Jennersville. We're passionate about Jesus and his Gospel, which offers the grace we all need every day. Whether they're longtime followers of Christ or just trying to figure it out for the first time, we love meeting people where they are and helping them grow in their faith.

Our Ministries

We have all the core ministries that most churches have — children, youth and adult small groups — along with some "specialty" ministries that meet particular needs we sometimes face. Three of those — Celebrate Recovery, Re|engage (marriage) and Special Needs — offer distinctive help for some during the biggest challenges of their lives.

Our Outreach

God intends to make all things new. That's why he sends us into the world with a gospel that touches—and begins to transform—all of life. Thus our Outreach Ministries are built on three pillars: Gospel Proclamation, Serving our Neighbors and Advocating for the Vulnerable. We organize around these key priorities to give full expression to God's love for the world.

Serving at Willowdale

We are made to bring glory to God. And we’re called to be disciples who make disciples. One of the ways we pursue and live out our discipleship is by serving those in and outside our church. No matter your age or stage there is a way and a place to serve at Willowdale. We invite you to jump in and join in the mission. We are always looking for new volunteers.

Investing in the Next Generation

At Willowdale, we believe our Next Generation is not the church of the future, but the church of today. We seek to pass on our faith to this generation and are committed to God’s calling of discipleship. There are several opportunities to serve our Kids, Students, and Special Needs ministries as small group leaders, large group teachers, as a buddy on Sunday mornings, and through special events through out the year.

WILLOWDALE KIDS

Our Willowdale Kids environment is a loving and fun community, where kids actively learn what it means to follow Christ. Whether leading a small group or serving behind the scenes, there are many opportunities to use your gifts to impact the lives of the next generation. This ministry serves birth – 56ers on Sunday Mornings.

WILLOWDALE STUDENTS

The heart of Willowdale’s student community is to create an environment where young people are challenged and motivated to love God and love others in tangible ways. In order for Willowdale Students to thrive, they need adults who have a desire to come alongside and disciple our 56ers – 12th Graders.

SPECIAL NEEDS

We believe every individual is precious to God and made for a purpose. That’s why we seek to fully include individuals with special needs in our church family. We provide Respite nights for families; host an annual Night to Shine prom and provide “buddies” for kids and students on Sunday mornings and Sunday Nights.

Serving on Sundays

As a church, we’re big believers in building a welcoming and warm community. Each Sunday we have the opportunity to experience God through worship gatherings at our Jennersville and Kennett Campuses, and Willowdale en Español. There are several opportunities to serve on Sunday Mornings and you can make an impact using your God-given gifts.

HOSPITALITY & Café

We set the stage for the gospel to be heard! From the door to your seat, our hospitality teams are the smiling faces making guests feel welcomed and loved at Willowdale! Whether we’re serving coffee, greeting new families, or finding guests seats– this team seeks to make Willowdale feel like home.

WORSHIP & PRODUCTION

The Worship Arts ministry offers people with all types of musical abilities the opportunity to lead our congregation in encountering God’s transformational presence in worship. The Production team exists to help create opportunities for the church to worship God through Lighting, Audio, Video, Photography and Media.

SAFETY & SECURITY

We desire to create an incredible first impression by offering a safe, comfortable environment for everyone from the moment they enter our property. From medical to fire safety and security issues, it’s critical to have a plan for protecting our people. Would you join us in keeping people safe during our Sunday services? No experience necessary.

Serving through Care & Outreach

Serving God is sometimes hard but it’s not complicated: Do justice. Love mercy. Walk humbly with God.  There are opportunities to care for the members of our church body, our local community and the world. Join us in our mission as we love God; love each other; and love the world that Jesus, through his people, is working to restore.

We have a portfolio of local and global partners. Each partnership is built on shared beliefs and values. Partnerships are invaluable for creating avenues for us to engage in God’s mission. We offer regular serving events and mission trips with our partners through out the year.
